Yak Pak Week of Oct. 14th – 20th

Key Verse: “Come and see what God has done, how awesome his works in man’s behalf!” –
(Psalms 66:5)

Our hope is for our kids to know that: We all can serve God

(Open the bible and read to your child Exodus 35:4-36:38) The Israelites were instructed to build a “tabernacle”, this was a portable place for the worship of God. The people gave generously, likely because of the events that happened in the past (worshiping the golden calf), so they wanted to make up for the wrong they had done. It wasn’t only “things” that the Israelites provided, it was also their talents. We all serve in different ways, some can build, some can sew, and some could sing. Whatever you do well, you can do it to serve God daily.

(This is an opportunity for you to ask some questions and to share your thoughts) Parents: Discuss what it means to you to serve God. Does serving God mean telling your friends about Jesus, or is it helping out those in need so they can see God through your actions? Maybe it’s both. Then talk about ways each of you can serve God this week, and commit to keeping each other accountable as you seek to serve God.

Activity/Challenge for Families:
This week think of ways you can serve God in your church. You may want to serve as a family or as individuals. If you are currently serving think about serving in the community, or even reaching out to non Christians with no agenda, just to allow them to see Christ in you.
